I just purchased the Traeger century 885
Love it only used twice
I have a. Question to the forum

when cleaning I heard something make a metallic clang I think this cover of this probe fell off.
This is what it looks like now. Did something fall off?
And if so what is it called ? And do I need to replace it ?

Yep, definitely hit it with something.. My guess would be grill rack.
Might be able to repair it with a little JB Weld, until you get a new one.

Thanks to both of you. I called Traeger. The customer service guy said it was supposed to look like that and there was no tip !?!
So now what ?
I will call again tomorrow

After expanding the pic for a better look, part of the tip does look intact, but it certainly looks like it has been hit and bent back some. Have you fired up the pit to test it?

Ok. Now that’s what I thought it looked like just couldn’t remember as I have only had it a couple of days. Thanks. I will try and explain it again to Traeger. Other wise I’ll have to replace it. I’m just annoyed after only 2 uses it has to be replaced. Pretty frustrating

I was cleaning my Ironwood 885 today after an overnight cook and attempted to gently push the thermocouple tip back to the center of the tube that it's mounted in... as soon as I grasped the tip, it disintegrated into a powdery substance leaving only the very tip intact. I have to assume that...
