Help! Android

I've tried that and it automatically fills in with the name Traeger - xxxx

Assume you've tried the hard reset on the controller - Factory Reset Grill - On grill go to menu, settings, about grill, then press and hold the ignite button until you see the Traeger logo (about 5-10 seconds).

So you tried my steps and it still fails?

If so, I agree return it as it should be pretty straightforward.

If you don't get another Traeger check out Camp Chef, they have a very interesting model with color display, side mounted propane sear station, all for $999
I did and thank you for the advice it did initially give me hope. I think today before I return it I will try one last time but I will video tape the process and post on YouTube. Perhaps the collective will have some sound wisdom for me and perhaps I'm overlooking one key step but to be honest I am pretty good at following instructions step by step. I actually printed up your instructions on paper so my phone will be free

I did Sir several times.

That might help a lot... and screen shots of something or the settings... etc.

Does your device nickname, WiFi network, etc. contain emojis or accent / diacritics?

Watching the interface on the 575 while also observing my phone, the phone doesn't recognize that the grill is no longer linked with Wi-Fi. But watching the screen on the grill itself it recognizes immediately the name of my home router and links up with great signal strength. But then it reverts back to its Factory state with its own Grill name and why fire password and no longer can the name of my home router be found. In fact when it recognizes my home router the forget icon pops up in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen but shortly thereafter when it reverts back the forget network is gone

Re-reading your description here makes me think the controller is in fact bad. Once the grill displays the home network and good signal strength, it's set. It should not dump the settings unless you select "Forget Network". I'd return the grill for sure, probably the quickest way to resolve.

Thank you for the reply and the thought invested. I'd love to solve the issue because i love the fit and finish. When i get back in town thurs I'll try to shorten the wifi name. And if that doesn't work, I'll swap it with a new one. Otherwise I'll have to go another route

I'll make that video as well

Ok, hey all! New to the board but have read previous posts. At end of my rope.
Equip:
New 575 wifire
Samsung galaxy 8

I purchased this Grill after much deliberation and bought it specifically to have the Wifire experience. Prior to purchase I had watched many videos on YouTube and didn't find much issue online with the unit so I made the purchase.
During the setup everything seemed to go quite well. I signed in on app and my 575 is approximately 4 1/2 feet from my router.
The grill itself quickly and easily found my router with good signal strength and everything on the app seem to go according to plan until it came to the point asking for a nickname. I put a nickname and click connect and the 575 instantly drops connectivity and the app goes back to the door screen with no Grill accepted.
What I've done:
Uninstalled and reinstalled app coinciding with a factory reset on the 575. No success.
I've changed networks which it doesn't seem to like but I've tried each of my 2.4 Networks to no avail.
For some reason the 575 just doesn't seem to stay connected to the network. So it recognizes it immediately during the setup .The grill functions as intended though I do have some temperature fluctuations which Traeger assures me will go away with the update which I can't get.
As you might have been inferred, I reached out to Traeger and while they seem concerned eventually came to the conclusion (after going up the ladder) that there's an app issue that they're trying to work out. And i should wait several weeks for a fix.

I'm very very disappointed in the connectivity of this unit and if it can't be solved by the end of the week I will return it though I'd rather not. Any advice from the collective would be greatly appreciated
When you try to connect are you scanning the QR code or manually inputting the grill information? Could be an incorrect UUID on the QR code

I had a lot of grief with my Silverton 810, getting WiFI set up and waiting several weeks to get the firmware and config files finally uploaded. I ended up taking it back for other reasons and picking up a Timberline. This came up on my second try it started with 2.00.00 and then the second time that it came up it said downloading files, do not power down.. this took some 15 min but at the end I had the current firmware and a Config file that was "Current -1", then about an hour later it updated the Config file. now all current, and so far so good...
In short a much more pleasant experience than the previous grill, though I do not know if it is the grill or that I had already done it once...

I would scan the QR code on some attempts and others after a reset I would put it in manually
