Timberline 1300
I am wanting to buy a 1300 but they are out of stock on the Treager website. I found an Ace Hardware that is about 30 miles from me that have 3 already built on there floor so I guess I'm going to have to buy from them. My question is how do you move these things after they are already put together? I have a trailer but can you take the legs off and set it on the frame on a trailer or would it be ok riding on a trailer completely assembled? If so where can I tie it down as not to bend it?

Thanks in advance

I have. 1300, I would mount it on the trailer and do a very serious tie down... ( maybe take the wheels off)
The legs would be a better transit option vs the belly of the smoker.

When i picked up my 780, i took everything out of it and put it in my vehicle. Then laid it on a blanket, strapped the door shut first, put a budgie cord around the hopper to keep the door shut. And put 1 tie strap across the grill between the barrel and legs. Then drive cautiously home. I just snugged it didnt get it real tight. You could put several tie downs on it just dont get the really tight.

Keep it assembled. After getting the beast into your trailer, lock the two locking castors Wheels on the grill, and strap it down well.

Have you checked with ACE Hardware to see if they will deliver. I have seen commercials on TV where ACE Hardware will assemble the grill and deliver it. I would check with them before attempting to move it yourself.

If you buy it online from Ace there is an option to have it delivered, I'd check it out. You might be able to buy it instore and have it delivered also.

I hauled mine in the back of my F150 for a 4 hour haul. Just strapped it down with ratchet strap one pulling to the back and one pulling against the other strap to the front of the truck. She never budged. Traveled fine.

Here is the proof. Lol

Me and a buddy. Took everything out of the inside I could. It wasn't too bad. 3-4 people would be a safer bet.

I had the same dilemma but my trailer was enclosed. I started it around the front to the sides of the trailer. It traveled well with no issues

Ace Hardware are usually independent modern day versions of mom and pop hardware stores, see if they will deliver for free, my local ace will.

Also, these things are not 1970's fridgerators, you can lay them on their back, just be sure to protect the snot out of them to avoid scratches

I’ve traveled with my ironwood 885 via the back of my truck. Here is what has worked for me:
- thick plywood the full length and wide enough that your wheels don’t slide off the sides
- two 2x4’s screwed to the bottom of the plywood running length wise and cut short 4 or 5 inches from edge of plywood.
- if you are able to roll your grill to a location where the truck is pointing slightly downhill, obviously that is ideal.
- lay the plywood with the edge overhanging the tailgate a few inches or right up to the end of the 2x.
- roll it up... I can do it by myself but two people is ideal. But if you have two people, minus well pick it up instead.
- roll up against the cab/back of truck bed so that the barrel runs parallel with the can.
- two straps running from the bottom corner of each side of the bed that run up and over each end making a crisscross
- getting it off isn’t fun by yourself though.... I back up to a bank in my yard and roll it off with the hope I can keep it from tipping over

Not one problem doing this a few times so there ya go if you have a truck and are by yourself. I guess the same strap method would work if you have rails on the trailer. If I had to take the legs off to move it, I wouldn’t move it and I can do all this without emptying the pellets. Also, I leave the cover on through all this.

We bought ours at an ACE Hardware ~15mi from our house. It was assembled already and they were happy to deliver it to the house!

Hey Ted, good to see the mask, keep it up. In Australia we only have 44 active cases and in the last 24 hours zero, apart from 2 that were acquired overseas
