Hamburgers - Grill vs Traeger

Any recommendations on the Grill Grates and do these just sit on top of the existing grates rather than replace?

They sit on top in the center. Here’s what you need for the ironwood.

I did a reverse sear ribeye with them yesterday. Turned out awesome. I’ll post that in the recipe section.

Thanks - I have been just firing up the weber for final (reverse) sear, would you recommend using these over my current process? 550-600f

Firing up the Weber just to sear is a pain. I use grillgrates and happy with them. I have also put my cast iron on the grillgrates to sear as well. If I'm in a hurry I just put my lodge cast iron pan on the propane side burner and sear quickly.

Yep. Pretty convenient now. I posted the videos over in the Recipe section.

@GrillMeister how do those compare to the Traeger cast iron grates?

Mine's gas and sat right next to it so definitely no difference than putting them back on the Traeger to sear, but think I will try some of these.

I hear ya. I have a performer and a master touch. I'm spoiled with the Traeger cooling down quickly and the Weber takes a lot longer to cool. lol. Cheers.

I can't say, I don't have them. I did try using a cast iron griddle for searing one time and it failed miserably and I went back to the BGE for searing. The Grill Grates changed that though. I flip them and use the griddle side for burgers now.
