We all knew that when Traeger had their IPO entry into the stock market that they would be pushed to generate more sales.
Now they are diversifying, and hopefully not diluting their efforts on the grill side of things.
Not something we can participate with up here, but should be interesting to see how this plays out.

I heard they revised their warranty to state that only Traeger meats and veggies can be used on the grill or you lose warranty!

:D
And maybe a patent will be found online for using plant based substitutions for meat protein. 😉🤣
I wish them luck, not something I would be interested in, but may suit a someone

LOL. Why not just order BBQ online and forgo the cookin part if that's the case.

Just the opposite. Those who order it are not currently BBQ enthusiasts. They order, if it’s good they may want to get a Traeger and create the meals themselves. I’m sure that’s at least part of the equation. Not too smart to try and market to an already seasoned BBQ cook.

At those prices I won’t be doing anything like that anytime soon…..

Lots of folks travel at different altitudes than we might. There’s a reason Snake River Farms stays in business. 😳
Exactly what I thought, it is like a cross between that model already being used by so many, and the meal kit model.
I can see 'signature series BBQ' in the near future with specific meals from the different BBQ personalities that have aligned with Traeger.
Cost is going to be their biggest hindrance. Getting someone to buy in under $100 is a lot easier than when you are asking a fair bit more $, and these don't seem to be cheap

Yeah - I keep going to that site, and simply can't justify the price. I am sure it's outstanding quality (I'd hope at least), but I'd be afraid to ruin it, or worse, love it so much I'd be hooked :sneaky:

This reminds me a little of the home brew community. Most brewers, such as myself, enjoy the entire process, from designing our own recipes (or at least tweaking existing recipes), experimenting with different brewing processes, etc.

There are also brewers who like to buy kits and precisely follow the instructions for the convenience and comfort level. And taken a step further, some companies were coming out with all-in-one brewing machines that remind me of a bread machine - put in the premix, push a button, and the machine will automate through the entire process.

Traeger is certainly going for the "turn key" approach and targeting the BBQ'ers who want the convenience and comfort level experience it appears.

I just check the Provision site page out. Prices actually aren’t that bad. Price per person range from $16 to $30 depending on what you order, and they serve 6 to 10 guests or 17 to 30 guests respectively.

I thought so too. Not everyone has the interest or patience to master smoking but they are all buying pellet grills. They just want the convenience and this might work for them. People on this forum are not the target, it is the casual backyard cook who just bought a Traeger.

As most already know, investors in the stock market have very little patience for a company to not show expected profits. I look for the traeger quality to go down as they begin to use short cuts that affect the quality. Over the past several years, Traeger quality was already on a decline. I see further erosion now that it’s on the open market.
My next grill purchase will likely be another brand.

Since Jeremy Andrus (? CEO) took the helm of the company, quality, innovation, marketing and packaging have all improved dramatically. Not quite sure what you can possibly be talking about. What did they used to make that compares with the timberline? Insulated, WiFi, programmable cook cycles, integrated app, heavy stainless cooking grates, keep warm and super smoke functions?

Maybe the added investment backing will allow even greater innovation and product development. People always with the negative views and prognostications.

Good luck elsewhere. Every brand has their pluses and minuses. Spend a bunch of time on the internet and you’ll probably get a BS image of many brands. The big boys like Traeger always get constant bad PR by other up and coming want to be Traeger like brands ( often paid reviews etc). Listen to half of it and believe way less. Cheers!
