Cleaned my 780

The only thing I would be afraid of , is the insulation soaking up the grease. I’m not sure it can tho because it’s ceramic.

Well, I don't have all these grease spills like the Feast Master does so I didn't go this far in the thinking.

Even if the fibers themselves won't soak up the grease, the grease will end up coating them, which is also bad, IMHO.

I don't see that hurting anything, but I don't have grease down there, only ash which this makes cleaning that up ez

Hopefully I won’t have grease down there anymore either.

I didn't do Timmy's extensive clean, just a regular one after my brisket cook. The Traeger was cleaned before this cook. Just look at the ash created by Traeger pellets after a single 20 hour cook:

The Bucket Head made short work of it. That was the last of the Traeger pellets and I am hoping it will be much better the next time.

I also wanted to show what I did about the grease drain. I always cover the drain pan in foil, but cleaning the rest of it, the trough and the drain pipe is a chore. The last time I covered those in foil as well (yes, the pipe too!). Now cleaning just involves discarding the old foil and placing new ones in:

After last weekends overnight cook, went to vac out the ash and check for grease. Looked pretty good, no grease in the barrel. Like I said I think it was user error.
