Chemical smell

Anyone have trouble with grease smoking and smelling like chemicals? It seems to be coming from one corner of the drip pan. It's covered in heavy duty foil too. The drip pan is very rusty and I've only had it for 3 months. Traeger is sending me a new drip pan so I'm hoping that solves it.

Mine is very rusty too despite it staying in the garage 100% of it's life. No foul smells though.

and today I forgot to foil my drip pan before a long dual mini brisket cook..

Oh well, it'll need cleaning for sure.
