The one near me (Daytona Beach, FL) is building a car wash soon. It's been open for a while now and is still pretty busy whenever I drive by or go there. The BBQ sandwiches have gotten a lot better. I think they changed the bread.
The "beaver tail" pastries and the breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too. Stopped at the one in Florence, SC when I was on a road trip one morning and tried those.

That’s an amazing gas station/grocery store combo or whatever you want to call it. Unreal how many gas pumps they got. The one in Florence SC has traffic backed up sometimes on the interstate, especially recently since it’s a main exit on I-95 to go to Myrtle Beach. I used to go right by it but the traffic is a nightmare so I changed my route. I’m in upstate SC but have a getaway place at the beach so I’ve been going that route for years, not anymore!

I bet they are taking a lot of business away from "South of The Border". The Florence, SC one has been crazy busy the few times I've stopped there. Their parking lot is much easier to get in and out of than the locations in FL.

I haven’t been up 95 any further than that exit in years but yeah I imagine it’s hurting them as well as the other convenience stores at Buc-ees exit. I went to the one in Daytona when it first opened, it was a mess then too but I stopped there a few weeks ago and it wasn’t bad. They recently opened their biggest store in Sevierville Tennessee near Gatlinburg recently, it’s going to be a mess because the traffic up there was already bad.
