Welcome and Congrats on the new Timberline XL! 🍻. What's your first cook going to be?

Im thinking some ribs, chicken, steak and vegetables..almost cost me a divorce so have to add the vegetables for the kids.
Ive been look at lots of you tube videos..its a cult not a hobby......bbq in the states is as deep as guns by the sound of it.

Welcome Aboard ! May the obsession begin!!

My first cook was the Traeger Spatchcocked Chicken. It's still a favorite in the Summer. I really get to cheat since my local grocery sells Spatchcocked chickens, so it's a real no-fuss-no-muss dinner. It also got me started with the Traeger rubs and sauces. Recommended as-is as a first cook!

BBQ is definitely close to the top here in SC. We sleep with our guns but eat the Q. Lol!

Spatchcock chicken is my go to on my Traeger. Easy to cook and delicious. Ribs are my second favorite for my Traeger but unfortunately I don’t have many others because of the lack of smoke flavor. But I’m not kicking the Traeger out either.

Let's not forget Pulled Pork, brisket, jerky and burnt ends. Don't forget to get a good instant read thermometer and something to monitor internal meat temp and chamber temp for the long cooks.

Since you mentioned YouTube, I've found Meat Church videos to be helpful. A number of the videos are specific to Traeger, the others can easily adapted to your Traeger.
