Although this deal has come & gone, it is now $159 on Amazon. Is this Meater block the same as the Meater thats on Traegers website? I already have 2 Inkbirds IBBQ-4T and Thermoworks Simple DOT. I know Inkbirds come out with their own version of Meater probes. With the Meater Block can I keep track of the temperature when I'm out at the grocery store or drink my favorite beers at my favorite brewery? Is this Meater worth it? Is there any difference between this and their newest Meater?

Is this Meater block the same as the Meater thats on Traegers

Meater's that come with some Traeger grills or available as options on the Trager website are not compatible with the Meater Block and indeed other Meater products, however Meater do hope to consolidate this at some point in the future given that Traeger own Meater although for the time being they operate as separate companies.

Also note that the Meater Block is the original 4 probe offering and it has now been superseded (Pro XL) notwithstanding both are still available, the newer version has more sensors and improved temperature range, see below.

I have an original Meater block and am very happy with it but with the advent of the likes of the Thermoworks RFX not sure which route I would go down now. Yes you can keep track of temperatures remotely via the app.
