For the K.C. crowd, I'll be doing a pulled pork sammy's served with Meat Mitch Whomp! sauce and Mrs P's home made coleslaw.

For the Green Birds of Philly, what else? Cheese steaks!

Buffalo wings (as always), but this time probably on the Traeger not in the oven.

Bacon wrapped chicken bites or Pig Shots could make an appearance too. Still TBD.

What's on your spread? Any unusual recipes?

Haven't finalized our menu, but it's only the two of us so it isn't as big a deal. We are thinking pig shots, cheese pickle chips and Buffalo chicken dip, but we haven't figured out what else we want.

Starting the smoked cream cheese and smoked deviled eggs today. Wings tomorrow.

Got my meat back today, 50/50 ground venison/beef, and some deer brats.

Gonna make a meatloaf and have brats. Kinda of the only thing the wife will get in on is that meatloaf, so I'll keep it easy.

Jake, before next year, I'm definitely buying a grinder and stuffer.

I hope everyone’s cooks for their Super Bowl party’s go well and may the best team win! I’m lucky, I hate sports that involves a ball so I get along with all my buddies and don’t have to lie, argue or loose money, lol.

I’m all KC! Brisket burnt ends, pork belly lollipops and burnt ends, first attempt at wings, KC style baby backs, pulled pork sammies with slaw, KC cheesy corn, KC smoked baked beans, making some KC bbq sauce slightly modified, roasted veggies, corn casserole, Mac n cheese.
Ill post pics tomorrow!

Appetizers: smoked queso, pig shots, shotgun shells, plus assorted cheeses, veggies, crackers, chips, salsas, etc.

Dinner: smoked pastrami, smoked & pulled chicken thighs, wife’s chili, potato & pasta salad, macaroni cole slaw, slider and sandwich rolls.

Dessert: 2 TBD

Beverages: Bloody Mary’s & Margaritas

We did the smoking, the 14 guests are bringing the rest. Great company, good food & beverage, the SB = a great day. Go Chiefs!

Ended up doing wings 2-ways: Standard baked in the oven with Franks (I use the Alton Brown method of steaming and drying them out first - this keeps the smoke alarms quiet !! see https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/buffalo-wings-recipe-1937515). The other wings were done on the smoker dusted with one of the Meat Church Gospel rubs (can't remember which) along with Honey Hog Hot. Let me just say that the smokes wings, with no additional sauce, WERE GOBBLED UP! Real crowd pleasers. I also like this technique for getting the skin crispy without using baking powder or corn starch. See
.

I also did a pulled pork that was tremendous. I followed everyone's advice after my last pork butt cook and cooked it over Saturday night. I put in on a 225° smoker at 11:00. At 7:00 AM it went into a covered foil pan with some apple juice and a few pats of butter with an IT of 165° and it was done by 8:30 AM. Went right into a cooler. I pulled it at 1:00 and back into the cooler. Put it in a warm oven at 4:00 and was ready for guests at 5:30. Still moist and great flavor.

Sorry, no pictures.
