2FA authentication to a grill???? This is a joke, right? What is this grill going to do?

You have a point.

There might be a hazard if it were possible to ignite the grill using the app, but since ignition must be started manually at the grill, the worst that might happen is someone could hack into your grill in the middle of the night and change the temperature setting ruining the overnight cook of your $100 prime packer brisket.

2FA may sound a bit much, but IoT things (like a Traeger Grill) are an easier entry point for hackers due to the lax/outdated security protocols that are implemented on them.

But like Ray says, who gives a :poop: , All that can happen is they hack to change the temp.
Who would even go thru that just to be able to do something that stupid. Go back to your mommies basement and play your video games and leave my grill alone you stupid freak

Hey Slim. I don't think the concern is a hacker being able to get into the Traeger controls. It has more to do with using the Traeger network connection to go the other way and get access to the PC in your house and harvest personal information that can be used to steal your money and so forth.
