WiFire connection problem easy fix

I just wanted to let you know I was having trouble getting my new 1300 to connect to Wi-Fi tried everything Traeger suggested no joy, so I checked signal strength with iPad and iPhone apps for just that purpose both said excellent signal. So instead of moving my router or buying another router or range extender I had an idea. From an old router which had removable antennas with the same thread as my little Traeger antenna but 12” long I swapped them out and it worked first time, it downloaded updates and now I’m connected to iPhone and iPad after hours of frustration. Traeger you may want to consider providing a bigger better antenna might eliminate a lot of people calling you for tech support, just saying!!
