Looking for some info regarding the amperage for the fans and the rpm rate on the auger for the Traeger Lil Tex..... Been researching PID controllers and wanted to head off any issues regarding the proper amp on the 2 fans and the auger rpm rate... Both Models are older USA models...

Also any recommendations on aftermarket PID controls... Been looking at the Smoke Daddy PID and the Savanah Stoker... wasn’t sure if switching out the controllers required a refit for the auger/fans????

TIA!

I don’t have specific info but I believe almost all the pellet grill industry parts are basically plug and play. I know the Smokedaddy guys and if you call them they will help you. Very honest straight forward individuals. I don’t know the SAVANAH stoker people but have an acquaintance that is right with them. Haven’t heard much about them for a while now.

A buddy of mine recently got a whole setup from SD, hopper, controller, auger, etc for his pit boss that caught fire from electrical short. He said it’s better than what he had and even his brother it planning to switch his out on his Timberline. Claims his pit temps are within 10 degrees or less and hasn’t had any issues. Definitely a good option if the grill is in solid condition. He also brags about how great the CS is too.

I was under the impression that the Smoke Daddy PID Is designed to be used with a 2 rpm 0.4 amp auger motor and 4.8 amp 3000 rpm fan motor... I’ve been unable to find any specs on the older Traeger Lil tex models... I’m aware of the compatibility when it comes to the wiring diagrams (plug N play) ... Ultimately I wasn’t wanting to have to switch out the fan/auger motors to run the PID controller or if it’s even necessary... trying to head of a potential problem before it starts sorta thing... appreciate the info/responses! I’ll call SD this week and see what they recommend ... Thanks Fellas!
