My Trager Ironwood has developed a fault where it randomly powers off into standby without warning. When powered up D2 randomly switching super smoke on and off also jog dial fails to move menus up and down. Please advise a solution ?

If it’s still under the 3 year warranty. Call Traeger customer support.

It's the android app. Check out all of the recent reddit threads about this. I've been dealing with it for a couple of weeks and found that as long as the grill is run manually and disconnected from WiFi it works flawlessly. Check the link below as there's a link in that thread to older versions of the app. Supposedly running 3.1.1 solves the problem.

Mine hasn't done that. The app hasn't been great, but never caused a shutdown. The dial did stop working properly. I would turn it to change temp and it didn't matter which I turned the dial temp the temp just went up.

The app is what's causing grills to randomly go into sleep mode mid cook. That's what you said happened.

It just goes off with no shutdown. Unable to restart grill, had to finish cook in oven.
This is what happened when I tried to restart it, twice

I had the same problem last weekend with my Silverton 810. It happened twice. The first time the temp had not came down very much so I unplugged the grill, and just started it over. The second time it was pretty much done anyway.

It has happened to my 885 too. I could of sworn the tech said he was sending me a power supply to correct it, but when the package came yesterday there was a replacement switch in it. You will find another thread on this with many others stating the same trouble. The consensus there is a problem with the Wi-Fi app. Were you using WiFi on the cook in question?

Yes, always. That seems to be the consensus in that it's the Android app. This happened to me last Sunday so I do have the latest version.

Also with the previous versions, the app would not update internal temp, pellet level, etc.... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. That did not fix it but the latest update did.
