I am looking at one of these to replace my 12year old Traeger.

Wanted to see the opinions from owners here.

When did this grill come out?

Any issues with this grill. The main cooking surface is about the same as my old Traeger. The upper shelf add a couple hundred square inches.

Thank you for you help.

I’ve been using the Traeger Ironwood Pellet Grill (TFB61RLG) for a while now and it’s been great. It came out a couple of years ago and has some cool features like WiFIRE, which lets you control it through an app super handy for longer cooks. The cooking surface is roomy and the upper shelf adds a lot of space for sides or extra food. I haven’t had major issues but regular cleaning of the grease system is important and the pellet sensor can be a bit finicky sometimes. Overall, it’s a solid upgrade from older models!

I’ve had the Ironwood for a while and it’s been great extra shelf, WiFi control and solid performance, though there’s slight temp fluctuation sometimes.

I have had a Gen 2 Ironwood for a good few months now and love it, there have been no significant issues but like most things it took a bit of getting use to compared to my previous 575Pro.

WiFi, Supersmoke, the Traeger App, double skin insulation, the D2 controller and pairing with a Meater block have all worked a treat but as EdwardWard says keeping it clean is the key.

I did a few temperature control tests and would say it is more precise and accurate at lower temperatures, when you get above around 450F it is not as good but as long as you are aware of this it isn't an issue.

Would I still buy it with the knowledge and experience I now have... yes in an instant.

My Ironwood didn't come with a Bigsby but it goes to 11.;)

I’ve been using the Ironwood for a while and it’s great holds heat well and the extra shelf is a nice addition, with Wi-Fi control making it super convenient.
