My wife recently purchased me a Pro 575. I live in PA and temperatures can get pretty cold and frequently below freezing in the winter. The reviews on Treager for this product are pretty poor. Most reviews say the straps melt off. Does anyone have experience with this and are there any other different alternatives from a different brand? Thanks!

Welding blanket seem to be pretty popular options

I’ve used mine 3 times, on my pro 780. 2of them were 13+ hr cooks. So far no issues.

I have the 780 and have used mine multiple times. Where you have to be careful is when temps are above 35. The instructions say to use under 35. Half of my winter fluctuates back and forth over and under 35 usually. One of my straps caught on fire because I cooked two butts at the same time and my grease trap caught on fire. Other than that I can definitely tell the difference with how many pellets I use when the temps are low. I got mine as a gift so can’t comment on value with price.

Thanks. Not sure if you have a foldable shelf but would it fit with that too?

Yes it work with the shelf. When I shut the lid I just tuck it in.

Yes the straps are nylon. I checked mine they look ok. Also I don’t hardly ever run my grill over 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
