Curious if there’s any feedback on this. I would imagine the controls and such are the same as the new Timberline series so any bugs should be worked out.

I just saw a Meat Church brisket video and the grill looked like it was producing a lot of smoke at 200.

I'm interested in getting the Ironwood XL. There is nothing wrong with my current Ironwood 650, but I wouldn't mind more cooking space.

Too bad that 20% off coupon that Traeger sent out at the end of last year expired on 12/31. I just need somewhat of a discount to make the jump.. 😂

Maybe Memorial Day, Father’s Day, etc will bring out a discount.

I'm looking at the XL for my first traeger. I'm waiting until the state fair in August. Hopefully by then it will have been around long enough that if there are issues with it, we will know. I also want to buy at the Fair because they usually throw in a shelf, cover, and some bags of pellets for free. Had a char-broil digital electric which was gifted to me by a coworker. Worked great for a year until it broke in a matter that meant jury rigged repair involving popping and replacing rivets.

I also saw a youtube video that said the drip tray was not stainless steel. Any truth to this? Makes me wonder if it would be harder to clean?

It is basically the same as the new timberline minus the side burner, SS grates etc and cabinet. Also the lid/headroom is a bit less. Same functions and controls though. The headroom is a slight downgrade, but the grates are negligible imo. The enamel coated stuff is pretty much perfected these days.

I actually thought that was a side burner over to the right but its just a fancy hopper lid lol

Looks like it doesn’t come with the wireless Meater probes either

It appears as though they are an add on if you want. $230 for two compatible MEATER probes.
Yeah that’s what it looked like when I researched as well.

If anyone doesn't need all the bells & whistles I just saw the older version Ironwood 650 for $849 at my local Home Depot. Now that's a deal.
