My current internet setup is one Orbi Router AX6000 and three Orbi satellites. The Traeger 850 is connected to my internet and I noticed it connects to the main router, not the satellite that it is 5 feet from. As most of you know, the Orbi Mesh uses logic to manage devices by connecting them to the closest satellite or router (2.4 or 5).

I decided to move the grill out of the range of my router (I've been wanting to move it out by my shed which is 65 feet away from the satellite) and cannot get a connection. Meanwhile, my phone, TV, iPad, etc. (All in the shed) are connected to that satellite with an 80MB download when tested.

Does anyone have any experience with how to get the Traeger connected to a satellite vs the router? Much appreciated.

Does your satellite also have a 2.4 and 5 option? Some systems I've seen have 2.4 and 5 on the main node but then only either 2.4 or 5 on the child nodes. If the child node is only 5 or forces everything to 5, the Traeger won't connect.

Thanks for the response. I actually have it working now. Had to power down the satellites and plug them in one at a time. Moved the grill and it is now connected to the nearest satellite.
