Silverton 620. Please pass along all the must haves. Any tips as well. I.e. i see some sort of lava tape being discussed. Best chips? Your #1 favorite go to recipe to smoke. Not a pork or fish fan. All kinds of beef/chicken/vegetables/sweets. Excited to try a pizza and some things like that. Love the filets from Costco or entire tenderloin.

Former offset stick burner…competition cook. Done with all that work. Have smoke tubes coming. Currently seasoning the pit. Had trouble with WiFi connection. Have read I need to let it sit overnight for firmware update to happen.

Thanking all in advance.

Then you don't need advice, choose any real wood pellets, I don't think a Silverton needs a seal.
Brisket or anything BEEF is about as Traeger friendly as it gets.
Dude you got this!!

Come on now. I need pointers like…if you live in humid environment seal your pellets in a bucket air tight. Don’t hold out on me. I’m too old to take too long to figure things out on my own. I need you veterans to teach me.

Lol I have been anti wood pellet smoker since they came out. So this is baptism by fire…seriously. First cook just finished. Was surprised how uneven it cooked. Suppose it was common sense I just expected more out of something I plug in. 🤷🏼‍♂️

All in all so far I’m impressed. Will have to figure out how to clean this thing. I do see dust being a problem already out of these traeger pellets. I saw somebody posted a wire basket/bucket combo.

I got a Bucket Head shop vac with a 5 gallon bucket and use that to vacuum out the Traeger. I know, it's weird to have to vacuum out your BBQ!! Gets rid of the dust though,

I use a battery (low) powered leaf blower!

YUP, get good 5gal buckets with the Oring in them.
I've owned about 7 different Stick burners in this 21 century, I'm still learning this pellet pooper.

The fan makes this more convection than you have been used to, and these cookers have 'hot spots', you will learn yours.

By no means are my posts trying to be condescending.
Sit back and make yourself at home TEX. Seriously, type in key words into search and you will see tons of Q&As from others in here.
Also, check for who else has the Silverton in here. They almost always post things that are their "model" related.
