Hey guys, I grabbed a turkey breast with wings and thighs still attached. Any tips for cooking this thing? I will likely inject with some creole butter and rub it with a cajun blend, but open to other ideas. What temps do you guys cook turkeys at, do you get a crispy skin? I like a good crispy skin.

if you want crispy then oil the skin and cook at normal oven temp, if you want smokey then you'll need to add a source like a smoke tube.

I got it injected with Creole Butter and in the fridge over night uncovered to help with the skin get dry so it'll crisp up. Right before I put it in the pit I''m going to rub with mayo and cover in a rub. I have decided which one yet though....

I know you can't get it now in time but I love this rub on Turkey... bought this at Thanksgiving and was in no way disappointing.

I’ll keep an eye out for it Slim. I’m gonna be doing more turkey, doc says I need to lay off the pork and beef. :( So this is my spring project, get the poultry down pat.

You must have my Dr.

My doc says the same thing, so im buying beef and pork that is grass or grain fed. Kinda hard telling which ones have been fed Skittles though. 🤣

Turned out beautiful! It was great, the rub I used was a bit salty to my taste but other than that it was great. I’m going to be talking to my butcher soon about getting some of those huge boneless turkey breasts to try out.
