Yesterday..we did a smoke no problem. Today, after getting to about 200 temp just dropped to 60 and could not get it to ride again. Auger is working, the fire box is filling up with pellets but it won't get up to temp. This is the second time this has happened..any ideas, help would be appreciated as most threads I've read online do not address this issue

I have an older model but I think they work in a similar way. If the hot rod is heating and the auger is moving pellets into the burn chamber the fan should be flowing air into the burn chamber to keep the fire going. Mine had a similar problem and it was the fan, it was running slow. I shot some wd-40 on the lower fan bushing and it sped up to speed and worked fine. Its still running good, but I purchased a replacement fan knowing that in the future it will need replacement. just something to check.

Any chance the pellets are really old or got wet? Can you hear the fan going?

Try emptying the fire pot and the auger tube with a shop vac. Then start over again by using the PRIME AUGER option. Close lid and ignite at a high temperature.

Remove the grates, drip tray and flame shield from the grill and try to ignite the grill. Are you seeing any smoke rising from the fire box?

If the temperature won't go over 60F, I suspect your hot rod is burned out. It should get red hot. If you have a local Ace Hardware, they should stock the hot rods in the store. You can also get them from Amazon. I purchased a couple of 3rd party ones to keep for whenever my hot rod fails. They are only expected to last a year or two.
