I have a question about something that has been happening on the Traeger app recently.

And before you respond with, "you don't need an app" or "you don't need wifire" just scroll on and don't bother responding.

I use the app on certain cooks that have multiple stages at different temps using probes. That way I can see where I am at in the cook and control it remotely. So don't hate.
But lately, I start say a recipe on pulled pork, and after the third and final stage, cook is done, I cannot get the app to stop that cook, or move on to another recipe, as it says it wants to start the other, or wait till it's finished.

I literally have to delete the app on my phone and reload the app to start a new recipe, for maybe 3-2-1 ribs etc.
Not life or death, just annoying the few times a use a recipe. As normally, I just use the app to monitor, or switch my Traeger to "keep warm" when running late.
Thanks all!

I think i just needed to RTFM in this case.

The last time they updated the app, the added the "Feature" to leave the recipe in there for common cooks, until you delete it. Every time I wanted to load a new recipe, it would tell me a cook was already started.

I come to find out, you have to finish or cancel the cook, by hitting stop, and then remove that recipe by hitting the trashcan icon. Sheesh. So if anyone else was frustrated, there you go. I will test this tonight as I pull off 25lbs of pork butt.

Good luck everyone!

Completing a MAKE NOW Recipe

Once the recipe finishes, the grill will change the temperature to KEEP WARM. KEEP WARM sets the grill to 165°F/74°C to keep your food at a safe temperature until you are ready to serve your meal.

Stopping an in-Progress MAKE NOW Cook

Tapping STOP on a MAKE NOW recipe stops the MAKE NOW feature and puts the grill back to manual mode. You can resume where you left off by tapping 'Start' from the MAKE NOW widget, which is pinned to your grill's dashboard. The cook cycle instructions will resend to your grill.

  1. In the MAKE NOW widget, tap, STOP.

  3. Tap, YES, STOP, to stop the recipe.

  5. Canceling an in-Progress MAKE NOW Cook
Canceling a MAKE NOW cook cancels the cook. Unlike stopping a MAKE NOW recipe, you will not be able to resume your cook where you left off.
    1. In the MAKE NOW widget, tap the trash can icon.

    3. The MAKE NOW widget is now removed from your dashboard, and the cook is canceled.
