Wife bought two 1" thick sirloin steaks Saturday for dinner. šŸ„© Decided to use the Traeger. Bought it to use it. I've only used it twice so far, so.... I rubbed EVOO on them then rubbed with steak seasoning. Threw them on the Traeger @215Ā° with the smoke tube going until they reached 130Ā° internal. Then threw them on the gasser at high heat for a little bit each side until just below 145Ā°. The wife wants them closer to well done but I won't go past 145Ā°, lol. MMmm... They were the best steaks I ever made to date. Tender, juicy and nice little smoke ring. Can't wait to keep using this thing. Sorry, no photos. Didn't think of it. Prost!

I gotta give this a whirl soon. I havent cooked steak on the traeger yet.

For the searing part I think Iā€™m going to get out my old turkey fryer burner and place a 12ā€ cast iron skillet on there and get it super hot and see how that works for searing.

I use the Jack Danials square cast iron Pan lid for searing on the gas range, since there is no smoke at high temps, and the time is so short....
