Just curious how many problems people have had with this smoker/grill? Besides trying to find drip liners. Mine if I crank the heat up to 400* or more I have fire. And it doesn’t matter if I have just cleaned the whole thing, seems like it is getting more and more like this. Almost afraid to use it, might burn the whole house down. Anyway can’t wait to see if there are others out there like me.
Thanks

You won't find drip liners for that model unless they sell them at Costco. Grab a roll of something like this and wrap the metal tray to make your own liners: https://a.co/d/0tRNNbQ

I've heard of grease fires happening on lots of makes and models - not just Traeger. Smokers and 400+ temps just don't go well together. It helps them sell grills for sure, but it's setting the customers up for failure.

You definitely need a good fire extinguisher because like 860 said, many smoker/grill combo’s catch fire. I rarely go over 300 on my 780, I’ve got an egg that’ll go over 700 and my Webber gas grill that hits 650. Smoking is “low and slow” I don’t care what those manufacturers say. I’ve used a Masterbuilt gravity feed helping a friend, after smoking ribs I turned it up to 350 to grill chicken breast and it was blazing. I was by myself at a party rental place cooking for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Not a fire extinguisher anywhere. Luckily I was able to drag the grill off a patio away from the building. It burned everything up, unusable.

That’s what I’ve been using ( foil ) I even called Traeger and they told me to just use foil. After the first fire I now have a fire extinguisher within 2 feet. I’ve had 3 major flare ups ( scary as hell ) just wondering if this problem was geared more to the Costco style.
Thanks

Another thing that could help - when you are cooking something messy, try to cook it on the top shelf and put a tray underneath it to catch the drippings. That way the grease doesn't have a chance to get anywhere else inside the grill and cause a fire in the future.
