About 2 weeks ago we stumbled across the Traeger roadshow at our local Costco. After a chatting with the reps we decided to pick up a 620 for $100 of usual retail.
Unsure whether or not it was the right grill for us I have tried to get a sense of what people think online. However, it seems to bounce from either loving it or hating it and as a result the grill is still in box in garage.
I am new to pellet smokers and with the exception of using a friends green egg basically a smoking novice. I think we would use it mostly for poultry and fish with occasional smoking of bigger cuts like briskets and ribs when having company. I don’t have championship aspirations yet and figure I’d be using it a couple of times a week when the weather is good. I’m not particular concerned about the sear for grilling, more the lack of smoke flavour in the food.
So what I would like to know is based on my anticipated usage will I be happy with this grill for a good number of years or should I avoid disappointment and take it back to Costco?
Am happy to pick up a pellet tube if that is the one thing that will make a difference to my enjoyment...(recommended brands?)
Cheers
