Brand new to this forum. I messed up my Ironwood 885. I was trying to access the auger, as the pellets got wet and turned into a hardened sawdust and would not turn. I started the disassembly process, got 3 of the 4 screws off, rounded out the 4th, and then... did the stupidest thing on earth.... I turned the grill back on, forgetting that the mount was only 25% secured, and it sheared everything off and ended up in a contorted position. So, my questions... 1. what parts do I need to order? and 2. is this something I can even try to fix? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

I am just shooting from the hip here since I don't have the same model as yourself. (UNPLUG THE GRILL) My fix would be using a slightly larger drill bit than the screw, would be to drill into the center of the screw head until it is free from the screw. with the head removed slide the auger motor off and continue your cleaning buy removing the auger and cleaning the tube. A cheap brake cylinder hone works well to polish up the inside of the auger tube but a round style bottle brush would work also. After cleaning re-assemble the parts sliding the auger motor over the headless screw and re installing the other three remaining screws. The headless screw is still there for support and with the other 3 screws will be more than enough the secure the motor. Another option would be to use some vise grips on the headless screw after the motor has been removed and order a replacement screw. I hope one of these suggestions will work for you.

Appreciate the reply. Ended up getting a screw extractor set on Amazon and that did the trick! One of the bushings was destroyed but I took your advice and use the 3 remaining ones. I'm back in business!
