I Just got 2 tier pull out grill grates for my century 885.To install them they need to go flush to both sides of the inside of the barrel.
The rtd probe is keeping it from being flush on the hopper side. Do I need the rtd probe or can I remove it for the grill to run properly ?

I'm not familiar with the internals of the Century but if you mean this (blue circle) it's absolutely required to control the fan and auger.

Protection for the RTD probe. If you haven't already whacked it with the grill you will. Believe me. If that goes south you will need to replace it to get the Traeger working again. The one for the front is to mount a Fireboard probe so I can compare the cook temperatures. I used stainless tape. Galvanized is a no-no. Gives off toxic gas.
