My first try with my new Silverton 650 was a pork loin. It turned out fine.
Now today I’m doing brisket using the Traeger Beginners Brisket recipe.
Earlier I have calibrated my probe per instructions. It was reading 11 degrees too low so I did the temp compensation on the controller.
I have a second probe plugged in. One I’ve used a long time and calibrated. First the Traeger probe shows a temp 20 degrees lower than my old faithful. Second, the probe temp on the wire fire app and the probe temp on the controller screen sometimes differ by 10 degrees.
What’s up here?
For today I’m going to trust my own probe but I have a hard time believing the Traeger probe, controller and app can be so flaky. I thought they had a good thing going.
