I have a Pro 780 that I purchased a month ago. My Firmware is 02.00.01, so I am about 3 revisions behind. I called Customer Support and asked how I can get an update and the guy told me that they are not pushing any more updates until the next one is released. I asked if there was a way for me to force my grill to pull any updates and he said no, and an email would go out telling me to turn my grill on when the update is available. So I have a new grill and am stuck with old firmware. No 500 degree capability.

Weird. I'm on 2.00.00 and also just spoke with support maybe 30 mins ago. Called because my Pro 575 was stuck "Downloading Files" for almost 24 hours. They helped me get past that and told me to leave the grill powered on for 24-48 hours. Said it should update to 2.01.02 on it's own.

Copying reply from other thread that I just posted ...

Firmware 02.01.02 was causing a subset of WiFIRE Controllers to unexpectedly shutoff, so they put that update on hold on May 27th ... once that happened, 02.00.01 became the "shipping" update, so in that regard, you are as up-to-date as many others who purchased in the past couple months ...

Traeger's Cloud back-end only PUSHes down updates to registered Grill UUIDs ... there is no way to PULL an update from an end-user perspective ...

To date, Traeger Customer Service is probably not a great source for accurate/up-to-date information ... I will be surprised if you receive an email from them ...

Lastly, the ability to select 500 degrees is not a function of Firmware, but a feature update made availabile via the Config Version file ... for a PRO 780, 500 degrees became available with 03.009 ... 03.010 is the current version ... assuming you have 03.007 running on your WiFIRE Controller ...

... there is a known BUG in 02.00.00 that can cause that version of Firmware to never update and never successfully complete the connection to a Home Wi-Fi Network ... you may find that it never completes the Downloading Files step ...

How many characters does are in your Wireless Network Name (SSID)? Anything around 25 characters, will not work ... if you have spaces in the name, Traeger has told people that each space is equivalent to 3 characters ...

The current version of Firmware being pushed out is either going to be 02.00.01 or 02.01.03 (some folks here started seeing that version appear yesterday) ...

My Config version is 03.007. I have left it powered on since last night, but no change yet.

I only have 5 characters in my SSID. It's been staying connected via the app now. Yesterday when I clicked Wi-Fi Config, it automatically went to the DOWNLOADING FILES screen and got stuck. Now when I go, it shows my MAC address, gives me the option to forget network, etc. I'll check on it every few hours to see if anything has changed.

Historically, at least through the May 2020 Update release, it does not appear as though the Traeger Cloud back-end will apply updates to the Config Version file independent of doing a full set of updates (Firmware + Config Version) ... since there are no Release Notes posted as of yet via the WiFIRE Status Page (https://traegergrills.com/status) for Firmware version 02.01.03, we do not know if there is any changes forthcoming with regards to that behavior ...

Leaving it powered on for now is the best bet ... and if/when you do receive the updated Firmware, leave it powered on for another 24-48 hours at a minimum - with the May Update release, if someone shut off their grill after receiving the firmware update, they never received the Config Version update (it followed 12-24 hours after the Firmware in May) ...

If you're connected to your Home Wi-Fi Network that's a good sign ... now the waiting begins for your Grill UUID value to be recognized by the Traeger Cloud back-end as needing updates and having them PUSHed down to your controller ...

I'm in the same situation as you are. Bought Pro 780 a month back right after 02.01.02 was put on hold. During the first installation, Firmware updated to 02.00.01 and Config 03.007. Cannot set to 500F. Spoke to CS Rep Supervisor yesterday and he said IT is testing the latest version and should push this week, not sure if it will be generic or targeted UUID. If you have not already, suggest you register your grill so they have your UUID.

OK thanks for the info. My grill is registered and I am leaving it on with fingers crossed.

My config updated to 4.015 but firmware is still at 2.00.00.

My config updated to 4.015 but firmware is still at 2.00.00.

Was the Firmware initially at 01.01.06 | 04.012 and then updated to 02.00.00 | 04.015, or was it that only the Config Version file was updated from 04.01x to 04.015? If the former, that is the normal/expected behavior that people saw back in the January 2020 timeframe when 02.00.00 was released ... if the latter, the Config Version file updating independent of the Firmware is "unexpected" ... Do you remember approximately when the Config Version file updated?

My Pro 780 updated it's Firmware last evening from 02.00.01 to 02.01.03. Config Version remained at 03.007.
