I'm having trouble adjusting the temp up or down. I believe it's the POTentiometer on the circuit board, the displayed flashing temp jumps all over the place and can't control. I can run the knob continuously down to the lowest temp and then increment the knob very slowly to reach my desired temp. It takes a few tries, but it is annoying. Has anyone in this forum experienced this issue? A new replacement controller is around $500. Half the cost of a new smoker. May try to replace the POT.

Does everything else work fine? If so, will the app adjust it?

Everything else seems to work fine. But I haven't tried through the app. On my next smoking day, I will be sure to give that a try. Thx.

Sorry I don’t have a solution for you, but if the app works at least you have a workaround instead of a new $500 controller. Once the grill is on I do everything with the app so hopefully this works for you

Update: I smoked some 123A beef ribs during the 4th of July. After making sure I had the latest firmware, I was able to control the temperature through the app. Thanks for the work around guys.

Late to the thread but mine does the same thing. Turn the knob "up" and the temp value goes down, and vice versa. After I play with it for a few seconds it seems to work correctly.

I ended up relying on the app to control the temp. That works just fine. As long as my wifi connection works with the Traeger.

On my Pro780 I've seen same as @Murphy's Law and @Starsintodreams: I turn the knob to increase the temperature, and the reading goes down, etc. More so on the temperature probe than on the thermocouple/grill temperature. After a twist or two, it responds correctly. No problems using the app.

The grill is four years old, I assume out of warranty. I keep it covered but outdoors in Florida sun/heat/salt. I also hope I don't need to buy a new controller.
