Pro 520 in the UK

Hello from the UK
Brand new to pellet grills. I have a pro520.
I have a question about keeping the pellets. My grill is covered but lives outside. Will the pellets left in the auger after a cook be ok to leave, or do I need to make sure the whole lot is remove from the grill

I live on the Isle of Man, generally wet, windy and only a couple of hundred yards from the sea with plenty of damp salt air!

If I am unlikely to use the pellet grill for an extended period of time in the winter I remove the pellets from the hopper but generally leave them onboard particularly spring, summer and autumn given the grill is used frequently. I have never bothered removing those pellets left in the auger.
