Pro 575, Tailgater
Got a Traeger 575 at Christmas time and love it. Kind of new to pellet smoking. Rib roast(s), ribs, burgers, steaks…. Tickled to death!

Just got a Tailgater to take along camping in fifth wheel. Had some transport issues at first since it was a bit taller than I expected and was concerned about contact with the trailer gooseneck during tight turns. Initial trip I had it all the way to rear at tailgate. Subsequent trip it went forward of fifth wheel. Much better setup!

I’m having the same issues others have with the Tailgater where the probe does not want to work and when I press the center button 8 out of 10 times it wants to shut down. Has this issue ever been resolved?

Welcome to the forum @W.Coyote 🍻 I've been interested in picking up the Tailgater for camping as well.

Sucks to hear you are having issues with it. Hopefully someone else can chime in to help.

WELCOME

Sounds like it’s the new ARC controller, call Traeger.

Oh, and Welcome to the forum!

After fiddling around pushing the center button I came up with how it works. The manual is about as vague as it can be but it seems if you push the center button firmly twice, it will kick into timer mode and then once to kick into probe mode. Did a 7 lb pork shoulder low and slow (225 deg/9 hours) yesterday that turned out great! No hitches.

Awesome! Glad you got it figured out and it worked properly!
