The sale on the serrated kinfe is a good one, but be aware that the X30Cr13 is an inexpensive lower-end steel used for knives. It is similar to AISI/ANSI 420 steel. This is not as good as C50CrMoV15 steel used in high end German knives, which is similar to 440A steel.
The description states that this is Japanese steel, which often implies a high quality, hard steel. Most Japanese knive steels like VG10, SG2 and AUS10 can be hardened to HRC58 levels or even harder.. Do not expect the X30Cr13 to come anywhere near these levels of hardness. The tradeoff is that softer steels are less brittle and tougher, so they can withstand abuse better than high-quality Japanese knife steels.
I purchased a Mercer X30Cr13 steel paring knife for my wife as she tends to be hard on knives.
