Has anyone tried using the meater probes since the Wi-Fire App was updated to accept them? I am curious to see if you can buy them off the shelf and they will work or it is proprietary to Traeger.

The old Meater probes only work with the Meater app. And the new Meater probes only work with the new Timberline grill. Hopefully they figure out how to get them working with the Traeger app on other WiFire models.

Doesn't the current Ironwood model have the same controller as the Timberline?

If so, the Meater WiFI probes should work with the Ironwoods as well, unless Traeger is purposely blocking them in firmware.

I am currently using wired probes, but the wires sure make it difficult to flip meat. Thus, wireless probes are on my wish list which is getting longer all the time.

I could be wrong but I think it’s the Timberline XL that has Meater.

Not sure the D2 works (Timberline, Ironwood, Pro)

The last gen Timberline does have the same controller as the Ironwood. A new Timberline series came out recently. There is a regular model and an XL model. They both have a new touchscreen controller.

https://www.traeger.com/accessories/meater-probes these work with that new Timberline series.

I guess that makes sense. The new Timberlines are pretty pricey, so I guess they deserve the Meater probes.
