Hi guys, I'm making custom wooden shelves for various Traeger Pro grills and I need some measurements from someone that has a Traeger Pro 780. It fits on the bottom lip of the leg supports (see attached). Could someone that has a Traeger Pro 780 take some measurements for me so I will be able to offer these to the public through Etsy? I've included some pictures of how to measure the distance between the leg supports, as well as, the prototype shelf I made for a Pro 22. I want to offer shelves that will fit all Traegers. Thanks for your help!

I just measured my 780 Pro. 15” is tight on width and 351/2” tight on length. I would make it 143/4x 351/4 if I was making it. You can trust my measurements, I’m a Homebuilder over thirty years, I’m a hands on builder too not a golf course builder Lol.

From what I understand with these things you want them very snug, because the existing brackets hold them on. You don't actually drill into the wood.
Edit: the length that is

Then go with the tight (exact) measurements. 15 inches wide x 35 1/2 inches long. However I highly doubt cutting 1/4 inch off each will hurt anything. Keep in mind the legs are in fact tapered. So it will fit the bottom of the boards (this how thick the shelf is) but the top of the board most definitely will be too tight. However I figure he probably knows this and if I was making them. Ohh….. well I’m not.

I made this for my Pro 575. It was an easy build. The only thing I did differently was to was to make the edge panels a little wider with a notch cut out for the legs. This way it is flush with the legs, front and back.

They sit inside the lip snuggly. A quarter inch may matter. I’m not sure….haven’t built one.

I guess I’m gonna have make one just to see. I’ll probably never really use it but laying in bed last night instead of thinking about my work (a house I’m building) like I usually do, this shelf got stuck in my mind lol. Supposed to rain around here next couple days so who knows!

Thanks you CM Tiger for your response. Yes, For the ones I have made for the 22 and 34, I took off a quarter inch of exact measurements which compensates for the slight taper of the leg supports.

Okay so I had a few old cedar fence boards laying around the shop and just quickly threw this thing together. Luckily I’ve been blessed to have a decent woodworking section in my shop. I’m hoping to spend more time than I do in it. I was a cabinet maker before I was a Homebuilder and I’ve always had a love for woodworking.

A 1/4 shorter works well as you can see but any longer it won’t fit. The only aggravating part is you have to remove the two lower screws on one side of the brace. The shelf won’t just slip in because of the legs tapering. Just remove the screws, tilt brace enough to get shelf in and put screws back. But it’s quite simple other than crawling around lol. I’ll probably take it back out sometime and paint it black. It’s really simple to build. It only took 15 minutes to build it including thinking of how to.I even ran it through my planer. Definitely an easy side money hustle for someone that’s into repetitive simple things or someone with a saw and a few tools.

I love your woodworking shop! I have to make do with my garage when the car is out.

Thanks. I got lucky that it was already newly built on my 28 acres I bought 6 years ago to build our new house. It’s a 40x80. I’m so happy my wife agreed to this property.

Midwest Smoker, Do you remember the measurements for the shelf you built for your 575? Was it 27 1/8 in by 15in??
