Is this the temp probe?

Is this the temperature probe? Im used to a a probe that looks like a long metal sharp object. Never seen a probe like this.

Yes, that's a probe. That is a thin ceramic tip for fast response.

That's not the probe as such, that's the Thermocouple that controls the grill temp. "The long metal sharp object" is the meat probe.
