For the upcoming holiday weekend, I am planning on smoking a turkey and a Boston butt. Has anyone injected preheated liquid during the cooking process?

I typically inject beforehand and let rest overnight, but I've not injected during a cook. I would think at some point that might release juices, particularly once it's been on a while. Hopefully someone with more experience can offer a better answer :)

I normally do the same. Just thinking about an injection during the wrapping process.

I also inject butts before cooking but never tried it while cooking. It would be interesting to hear how it goes. And I don't inject turkeys or chickens at all, I brine them for a day before cooking in a 'tea' that I make out of salt (not too much now), sage and poultry seasoning.

Up until my last 2 butt cooks , I injected several times during the cook. After last weekend cook, I don’t see a need to inject during the cook, or at all for that matter.
