780 pro
Alan from Perth Western Australia, just purchased a 780 pro, well, 6 weeks ago, having great results, wanting to know, who uses a meater plus and what range can I expect out of it, I have the regular meater and my phone has to stay inside ten feet or it loses contact?? Cheers.

I have a Meater Block w/wifi. I had the same problems with my Meater in that my phone had to be very close. With the block I can go anywhere in the house without constantly loosing connection. It does sometimes but reconnects.right away.

Setup a ipad or another device and link it. It will turn a meater+ into a meater block. Just make sure the one device doesn’t go to sleep.

My replacement Meater Block should be here today. Mine always lost connection and estimated cook times for hours and hours. Last time I used it for a brisket, it was "calculating cook time" until there were 30 mins left. And even after that 30 mins, it still wasn't close to being done. It's about 15 feet away from my router. My Traeger and outdoor smart plugs that are in the same area all have strong signals.

I tried the Meater Plus before getting the Block. My home has concrete block walls, so I thought that was interfering with the Bluetooth signal and why I kept losing connection. So I went with the WiFi Block instead and gifted the Plus to a family member. It doesn't work great for them either and they don't have block walls.

Update: Amazon let me return the Meater Block as long as I agreed to a restocking fee. Done.

I recieved the Meater for my birthday, and the first time I used it, I could not get more than 10 feet from my grille. I returned that one and replaced it with a Meater + and I have had much better results. I can now move all around my house ~1300 square feet, with the grill about 6 feet from the back door. It's a much better improvement in my mind. But I had never heard about the trick up there to link it to a tablet to increase the range even more. I will have to try that, just for peace of mind.
