I have a Silverton 620. I'm very happy with the Traeger but I hate the app. I use the app on my Android to monitor grill/probe temp etc but no matter what I do, I cannot get the loud "beep beep" notification to turn off. I know I'm not the only person experiencing this issue, based on the Google/Amazon reviews I have read. I have contacted Traeger support but they couldn't offer me any suggestions. One guy I spoke with told me that it doesn't happen with the iOS app. That's great for him but I have an Android phone.

On the Traeger app, I have disabled all notifications, including one called "Traeger airship". I have turned the sound off on the D2 Treager grill. I have also blocked all permissions. The app will still beep loudly when the initial grilling temp has been reached and also when the 15 minute shutdown sequence has concluded.

I purchased the D2 Traeger expressly for the convenience of having a remote app to control and monitor it. I could have saved several hundred dollars by purchasing a more basic model. How do you disable the sound? I am extremely close to returning my Traeger to Costco and getting a different smoker.

Have you gone into your android settings on your phone?
SETTINGS>NOTIFICATIONS>Recent/more
Scroll to Traeger and make sure itnis toggles to 'off'

No idea what phone or Android version you have, but notification volume is controlled separately from ringer volume. Usually if you turn down volume you should be able to access other volume controls below the slider graphic.

Thanks for the replies.
- I have not put my phone on vibrate because I want notifications enabled for other apps like email and such. I will certainly try that for tomorrows Brisket cook.
- My phone is an older Samsung Galaxy S8.
- Turning down the volume defeats the option of having the volume up for other notifications not related to the Traeger.
- The Traeger app notifies me with its loud beeping even though I don't have the app running. It apparently runs in the background even through I have disabled all background functions and menory usage. If I start the Traeger without even turning my phone on, my phone will beep when the Traeger temp reaches its target.

What annoys me is that with every other app, you can control the notificaions individually by either turning them on or off or changing the notification sound to a bell or chirp or whatever. Not with the Traeger app.

I will uninstall the app and reinstall it to see if that possibly fixes it.

I have the same thing, that's what it's supposed to do.
It only happens twice during a cook cycle, I just swipe the notification gone and move on in life.

You don't want a more 'basic' model, they are crap compared to yours.

I have also blocked all permissions.

Like Jake said, did you turn OFF Traeger APP notifications on your phone, not just permissions

Yup. I turned off the Traeger app. It still beeps and I still get a notifcation that the pre-heat is completed or the Traeger has completed it's shutdown cycle. Of all my apps, the Traeger app is the only one that just won't play nice. Sometimes you want the notification but sometimes you just dont. The solution is just to put my phone on vibrate.

It's probably my phone. I have the Galaxy S8 which is an old phone.

Well turning that off internally in the phone software should not allow an APP to do whatever it wants.
I don't have an answer if your's does not obey, sorry.
