Traeger instructions for SEASONING YOUR GRILL - INITIAL BURN IN (Modified by magoo40)

I have worked with high temp finishes a lot, and despite what the paint manufactures say i always do a gradual "Paint Cure" 2-3 staged seasonings. 50% & 75% then 100% recommended temp cooling between each stage this allows the paint to cure with out burning or bubbling before exposure to high temps, considering all the grief you have been through if I were you I would adopt this approach. It can't hurt right and it might save you some disappointment.

Before cooking the first batch of food in your new Traeger, you will need to season the grill. This simple, one-time initial firing process will ensure that you get the most out of your Traeger Wood Pellet Grill. We’re so excited that you’ve chosen to join Traeger Nation.
Step 1 Plug in grill to an electrical outlet and turn on
Step 2 -Prime your auger tube with pellets
Step 3 -Add hardwood pellets to hopper
Step 4 -Turn the main power switch on
Step 5 -Turn dial to "Select Auger" then choose "Prime Auger"
Step 6 -Once pellets begin to fall into firepot, select "Done" to turn off auger
Step 7 - Turn selection dial clockwise to 225°F (107°C) and press the dial
Step 8 - Press ignite, close the lid, and when the temperature reaches 225°F, run for 20 minutes then Shutdown grill and let cool.
Start Gill again
Step 9 Turn selection dial clockwise to 340°F (170°C) and press the dial run for 20 minutes then Shutdown grill and let cool.
Start Gill again
Step 10 Turn selection dial clockwise to 450°F (230°C) and press the dial run for 20 minutes then Shutdown grill and let cool.

This approach will help give the paint time to "cure" before exposure to high temps , hope it helps.

Hopefully you'll have better luck than I have. I ordered my Ironwood 885 about six weeks ago and I'm still waiting (but I have my FB and Mk4).

While you are waiting, you can keep busy by using the FB to log the exhaust air temp coming out of your PC in response to various activities or use the Mk4 to measure the air temp in each of your rooms and compare the temp near the floor with the temp near the ceiling. ;)

All good ideas. This rental house has an outdoor kitchen with a built in natural gas grill so I can still grill, just can't smoke anything.

I'd ordered the grillgrates to help with the gas grill's uneven spots, but they got delivered to the old house in CT instead of here because I'm an idiot. I plan to get the fireboard out today and start getting familiar with it.

Just got off the phone with the local ACE and they confirmed that the grill had been delivered to them and arrived this morning. They expect to get it assembled tomorrow and delivered on Sunday. Since I have a trailer and they're only a mile away I'm tempted to check back tomorrow and see if I can pick it up.

Putting the Grill is easy to do, just need to put the legs in. I did it for my Ironwood 885, however, I did needed help to lift it up once the legs were installed.

Yeah, if I were you I would have picked it up in box and brought it home to assemble it myself. I would assume Ace might be better then larger stores but I worked for Lowes while I was in college and the people that put there grills together were sketchy at best.........
I remember when I was a kid it was common to "please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery" for anything you ordered from a company, magazine, catalogue, etc. Younger people today would die if they had to wait that long.
