I accidentally left my Ranger out on the patio during a heavy rain
The stand I use accumulated three inches of water flooding the bottom of the ranger
Am I screwed? Anyone have experience in dumb accidents like this one?
Ugh

were the electronics under water? Hope it wasn't plugged in.

All you can do is bring it in a very DRY place, maybe even next to a dehumidifier, and wait.
If your pellets are soaked then clean it out first, but don't "run" it if you got wet electronics.

I would mostly be concerned about the pellets caking up in the auger. I think the legs of the ranger are @2” long. So I assume it’s just the bottom that was submerged. Clean out the pellets from the grill and the auger. This will take some tricky disassembly. If the electronics weren’t totally submerged, I’d be slightly tempted to run the pellets out of the auger through the priming function. The ranger is especially tricky to take apart and reassemble.

I would get rid of any table that actually holds water. At very least drill holes in it so it drains.

best of luck.

10 years ago a storm blew my Little Tex off the patio and into a large puddle of mud. Called Traeger they said let it dry go several days and call when it was dry.sine the pellets swelled up in the auger Traeger’s CS then walked me through disconnecting the auger then using channel locks reverse out the auger. It great and I used that for several years. Hope this helps.

The Ranger is a PITA to take apart. I recommend a second set of hands because you kinda have to finagle the whole thing apart and then back together.

I do not know anyone that has a Ranger and I have only seen them in stores. Is customer service helpful?

Certainly can not hurt. I encourage using customer service as they hear every complaint out there. They are most likely source to have a resolution. Although they may require an incremental approach which is normal in problem solving. 👍🏻

Good luck. Keep us posted.

I does not sound like repairing the Ranger is going to be much fun. Unless you use the Ranger for camping or tailgating, it sounds like it might be time to upgrade to a larger grill that is less likely to get flooded and can handle more delicious foods. ;)

The ranger is a great little unit though. It is perfect for small daily meals and big enough to do a small butt or ribs. I love it. Just don’t love tearing it apart. Hoping to not have to again. 🤞🏼
