Before I got my 780 about 2 weeks ago the only thing I had ever grilled was a tailgate hot dog or hamburger here and there. Got up at 4AM yesterday for my first brisket flat. Other than being just the slightest bit dry I am pretty happy with the results.

LOOKS GOOD! 👍

Do some surfin on the forum! With insight from others here, trial and not many errors. You will get briskets perfected in no time.

Check out the "Whats for dinner" thread, lots of good info there.

Thanks! I plan on looking around and seeing what I can find here. Looks like a great forum.

Got a nice and heavy smoke ring on it. Looks really good. I wish my first brisket turned out this well

Thanks! It was all luck. I literally had no idea what I was doing and was googling stuff the days before and right up to when I put the brisket in the cooler.

What TEMP did you use, when did you WRAP, and how long did you REST it for????

BTW, great job for your 1st, ya did good

I did 225 for about 14 hours. I actually didn't wrap and may next time. Am just kind of experimenting at this point. I rested for an hour in foil wrappd in a towel in a cooler. And thank you!

IMO, you do the same thing next time but wrap in foil or peach paper at about 165° or when you see a good bark has formed...
You will get your "moist" back.

Looks like a great smoke ring!!! I too wrap in paper at stall temp - makes for a great bark and keeps moisture in as well!

Welcome to the forum and good luck going forward!
