Hello everyone, very cool place! In November I received my Father’s Day/I survived the virus gift - a new Century 22 - I’ve been a grilling fiend!

Mark me down as VERY happy with my Traeger! It has made me look like a steak & poultry aficionado! I’ve been grilling 4 out of 5 nights for the past several weeks, concluding last week with 6 filet minon’s cooked between medium, medium well, to well done - ALL to perfection! This little grill (and the Traeger App recipes/steps, runs, internal temp probe) made me look like a PRO!

So, I thought it was time to raise the game and give smoking a try (not gunna lie, I was a little intimidated). I watched numerous YouTube videos (thanks mostly to Meat Church) and decided to try the Midnight Brisket recipe from the Traeger App. Read the recipe & steps, felt pretty confident.

My son & I prepared the 3 lb brisket, loaded up the pellets, fired up the smoker at midnight, and let her rip…

My little grill must have struggled in the night, because after 6 + hours, it had only made it to 140° (should have been 160°). After waiting unsuccessfully for a couple more hours (only made it to 145°), I felt I was in trouble, did a quick Goog search and found the Traeger Forum, searched thru some posts and found one in which addressed my concerns (“Firmware Version 02.02.02”), where a great representative of this forum, @JPSBBQ, jumped in and talked me though my problems (my little Traeger may struggle with maintaining low temperatures).

Great forum, great - and in my case immediate - help!

Thanks everyone!
