I am in a bit of a dilemma as where I should mount this probe on my Pro 575. My first choice would have been just above the factory one but the pellet box stopped that idea.
I was thinking about the middle just above the top grate but would the heat from below throw the reading out?
Anyone who can assist is much appreciated.

I don’t know if there is enough room for clearance but I’d put it straight vice the stock probe above the hopper.

Ok I have placed just above the factory one.

Can you open your hopper?

Davy, I have been wondering for a year now where to put that.
I can't put one where you did b/c I use a wood cutting board on my lid.
*However, I had a thought, just not the balls to do it... YET
Drill a factory size "PROBE" hole in the hopper level with the upper shelf clip and towards the front maybe 2"
Install the probe in in the drum, keep the wire between the hopper and drum, plug the hopper hole with a stock rubber grommet. My replacement grommets came 'solid', I had to poke hard to break and separate the access flaps. So this would completely block any pellets in the hopper from getting out.

Something like this:

And how have you found the results?
No, I didn't do it YET, but That's my 'idea' of where to put it and how to do it.
I photo-shopped your pic to show where and what it would look like.
