Grill
Treager Mesa
I bought my smoker from Costco. It is a Mesa model TFB52PVH. Treager "says" all their newest smokers have the latest and greatest upgrades, especially Wi-Fi. Mine does not have Wi-Fi. According to Treager it must be an older model since it does not have a D2 technology, and the motors are not variable speed so I can't add a Wi-Fi kit. Other than taking it back, do I have any options I don't know about that would make the unit better and have Wi-Fi?

The Traeger Mesa grill is a Costco exclusive. It is currently listed as a "special event" sale through Feb. 18, 2024. That likely means that it is an older model on clearance.

If you want WiFI, you will need to return the Mesa and purchase a much more expensive grill like the Silverton 620 which sells for $900. You will have to decide whether the WiFi capability is worth that extra cost.

I have an Ironwood 885 which cost me around $1500 a couple of years ago. It does have WiFi capability, but I have not used that capability in the past 18 months. I do not trust the Traeger temperature readings, so the WiFi capability is not that great a feature.

RETURN IT just to get a newer model and supported better by Traeger CS

The Costco "Century" and "Silverton" models have WiFi. They are selling 2 other models right now as well - Mesa & Elite 34 - those do not. If you're going to go with any of the Costco models, I'd go with the Elite 34 because at least that one is comparable to some of the mainstream Traeger models. More accessories & support options. The Pro 575 might be what you're really looking for though.

I don't use the Treager probes either but still find the wifi to be a great option. I use a third party temp probe but still lower and raise the Traeger temp based on what my Inkbird probe says. To me the wifi is like my iPhone. I was a last hold out getting a smart phone but now couldn't live without it. I wouldn't have another pellet grill without wifi.

No to be a wise guy but didn’t you research it before purchasing it? Luckily Costco has a good return policy, take it back, spend a little more and get the one that has more of what you’re wanting instead of throwing money into it trying to make it something it’s not.
