Cleaning Question

I clean my firepot regularly (vacuum with a designated shop vac) but every time I go to start up my grill I get a message on my screen saying it's time to clean my grill or firepot. Is this always displayed as a reminder or is there something I am missing? I vacuum it out and keep it pretty clean. Just curious!!

As mentioned, there are cleaning messages based on run time after last reset. There are "clean firepot" and "clean grease tray" messages that you clear in settings, as mentioned.

The grill doesn't actually know when you clean it.

I get the same and also keep it pretty clean. I assume there is no sensor, just a regular reminder.
