Followed the Traeger recipe it was the juiciest chicken I ever ate. Used the treager chicken rub inside and out. Used the Traeger ceramic chicken holder used Yeunling
lager beer. The taste was just mild, was expecting a wow factor but didn’t get it. Any suggestions

I use PlowboysYardbird rub and Shiner beer, also rub the chicken skin with lemon juice before applying the rub.

Nice! Shiner Bock is one of my favorites. I used a Leinenkugel Sumer Shady on my beer can chicken last week and it was fantastic. I also put a few sprigs of fresh rosemary from my garden in the beer. That Traeger chicken throne is pretty sweet too.

I just seem to get a very very tender juicy bird but it still just tastes like regular chicken

You just need to experiment with different rubs and don't be bashful using them. I like the rubs from Meat Church. And Jeff's rubs from SmokingMeat.com

I’ve had pretty good luck also applying the rub liberally under the skin as well, perforating the Beer can top with three or four extra cuts, and inserting multiple sprigs of fresh thyme and rosemary into the can.
Traeger’d, the taste, tenderness, and juiciness is extraordinary. Even done in the oven, you will win food-begging friends for life!
