I have a 10+yr old pro 34 that has always worked perfect. Lately I noticed the auger had fed all the pellets out. My first thought was a temp sensor went bad. I cleaned it out with steel wool and fired it up and set it on 225. Temp kept climbing to 350+. I shut it down and the auger wouldn't stop feeding, I had to switch off the power. I have ordered a new RTD sensor however I'm not sure that is the problem. Any thoughts on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Scotty

Installed new temp sensor today, Auger keeps feeding pellets temps keep climbing auger will not stop feeding until power is turned off. I have ordered a new control board with the hopes this will solve problems. I hate throwing parts at it without being able to diagnose the problem.

I'm having the same problem. I changed the control board twice. The auger won't shut off. Temperature keeps climbing. I set programming to P4. Did you resolve your problem?

I ordered a new control board from Amazon. I installed it yesterday in 25 degree weather. It went within 8-10 degrees of my set temp and auger stops at cool down. Seems to work perfectly. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Scotty, it’s likely the RTD sensor, but if the issue persists, check the controller or auger relay for faults let us know how it goes!
