I have a new Silverton Traeger that I have only used once. I want to make a simple brisket, but your recipe calls for like a 9 to 12 pound cut. I’m only going to use a 3 pound cut, so do I adjust the cook time down from what’s in your recipe or stick with the recipe time!

Thx!

Yep, we're just a bunch of Traeger enthusiasts who enjoy helping other folks and showing off our cooks.

Not only that, but I would NOT follow ANY Traeger recipe if you are 'new' at BBQing... but do make yourself at HOME here, you'll learn a lot by surfing this site.

Don’t worry about the time. Go with internal temp. The internal temp will gradually increase then it will level off for a few hours. Then it will begin increasing again. When it reaches 204 degrees, it’s done. Not 203 or 205, but 204.

One thing I forgot to tell you…
When the temp reaches about 175 is when it will level off,it’s called the stall. When it stalls, wrap it in tin foil or pink butcher paper. Then put it back on the grill and cook to 204.
